I imagined John Blanke as an impressive, glamorous, flamboyant and intensely talented presence, in the group context of the collective shine, brilliance and beauty of the King's Royal Trumpeters.  This must have been an arresting group of men, clad in costly garments, making glorious music and riding high up on their majestic, gleaming horses. They probably set many hearts racing. The King's Royal Trumpeters were likely the subject of romantic daydreams, the rock stars of their day.
