A typical John Blanke Project Live! workshop is in four parts over two and half hours: Part 1 Presentation An introduction to the Black presence in Renaissance Europe through the history of John Blanke and his image compared to the images of the Black St Maurice and the Black Magus or King from the Adoration scene. Part 2 Presentation The John Blanke project is introduced as multidisciplinary venture of art, music and poetry Part 3 Participation Invited to draw John Blanke as they imagined he might look using pencil or charcoal on a piece of A4 paper, Finishing by writing a sentence beginning with the statement I imagined John Blanke as… Part 4 Symposium Each member of the workshop presents their imagined John Blanke to the rest of the group. |
