I imagine John Blanke to be a strong minded individual, but also living in fear, a man who has been taken from his homeland and forced to play the Trumpet for the King of England.  A land at that time which had very little respect for black people.  Who knows whether it was against his will or not, he may of been in a high position, but was this what he wanted, was he a free man
