These are open mike sessions in which JBP contributors are invited to the mike to give a 10 to 15 minute presentation on how they imagined John Blanke. Their presentation develops what they said on JohnBlanke.com as they imagined the Black Tudor trumpeter.

JBP Live! exhibitions was more an installation rather than exhibition as the central element will be a version of the 1511Westminster Tournament Roll, its colour contrasting with the black and white of the visual art works.

The Walker Art Gallery is set to share the story of one of the first people of African descent in British history to have both a visual and written record. The life of John Blanke, court trumpeter to Henry VII and Henry VIII, will be explored as part of the Gallery’s major upcoming exhibition, The Tudors: Passion, Power and Politics (21 May to 29 August 2022).

Two types of JBP Live! workshops are delivered: Drawing and Writing. John Blanke his life and times are presented to be used as the seed or catalyst for a drawing or a piece of creative writing.
