I Imagined John Blanke as being from a wealthy family somewhere like modern day Mali. In his lifetime it would have been a very wealthy nation. I imagine him to be an accomplished horseman and musician,coming from a culture that valued both.
I imagine that in the court of Henry VII he would have been liked and respected for his skills and background.
In my picture he is talking with Christopher Urswick who was another employee of the court.They are discussing Erasmus and joking about how bad he is with horses.
