I imagined John Blanke as a young Spanish trumpeter of Moorish descent and culture who admired his lady Katherine of Aragon and who went to England with her entourage with a sense of trepidation, leaving behind his beloved Spain and its Moorish architecture and culture to tolerate, for him, the new ways of the English court. That he flourished is testament to his strength of character , and the undoubted respect, patronage and probable fondness of Katherine.
